EHI webinar "Are consumers equipped to achieve the decarbonisation of their homes?” - 7 December 2021 - Full recording

The upcoming Commission proposal on the revision of the EPBD is expected to provide the European building sector with more tools and guidance on how to decarbonise. Especially consumers will need to have a key role in transitioning the European building stock towards a sustainable future.

EHI’s newest study takes a closer look at what drives the decisions when it comes to purchasing a new heating system for their homes: specifically, to what extent does the current energy label help consumers to opt for more efficient and sustainable heating technologies?

Starting from this, the event was the occasion to discuss whether consumers are equipped with the right tools to decarbonise their buildings and thus lead the energy transition and what the current policy proposals under the Fit for 55, and the upcoming review of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) can do in this regard.

Speakers:

  • Paula Pinho, Director at DG ENER, European Commission
  • Giuseppe Lorubio,  Public Affairs Director at Ariston Group
  • Federica Sabbati, Secretary General at EHI
  • Veerle Beelaerts, Head of Technology at EHI

The discussion was moderated by Rud Pedersen's Senior Advisor Chris Davies, former MEP member of the ENVI Committee.
