Thermally driven heat pumps use heat or an engine, rather than electricity, to provide the small amount of extra energy the appliance needs to do the job.

A new and innovative segment of the heat pump market, thermally driven heat pumps have various uses. For example, they can be used in areas where this is not enough load from the electric grid and in areas with harsh climates.

In this report, together with the European Heat Pump Association, we provide an insight into the various types of thermally driven heat pump technology and explain how it works.
