On 2nd November the EHI secretariat has been strengthened by the arrival of Ms Veerle Beelaerts who joins the EHI team in Brussels as Head of Technology.

New addition to the EHI team: Veerle Beelaerts joins the European Heating Industry associationVeerle has been working in the field of environmental policies and standards in Europe and in the Middle East since 2011. She worked in Daikin Europe and later on in Daikin Middle East and Africa in regulatory affairs. More recently she worked at the European Commission where she was responsible in DG Energy for Ecodesign and Energy Labelling regulations for most of the heating appliances, as well as for cooling and refrigerating technologies.

Veerle was born in Bruges, Belgium and holds a master’s Degree in Bio Engineering and a PhD in Engineering from the Free University of Brussels, Belgium.

At EHI she will be responsible for the activities related to several technologies and particularly heat pumps, but also biomass boilers, solar thermal and others. She will support the EHI on a number of standardisation topics connected to such technologies, as well as on EU legislation as Ecodesign and Energy Labelling.
