Heat pumps are among the most efficient heating solutions. As such, they will play a key role in the decarbonization of buildings, which are responsible for about half of Europe’s energy consumption. However, a number of barriers to their market uptake still persist, such as in the energy value chain, in the market, in legislation and technology.
The European Heating Industry’s (EHI) new report “Rolling out heat pumps: barriers and how to overcome them” sheds light on the challenges involved in bringing this energy efficient technology to the mass market. It also highlights the solutions developed by the industry and proposes policy recommendations to support the uptake of heat pumps in European homes. Find out more in the full report here.
